Marymount Bakehouse Singapore blends the charm of a neighbourhood café with the craft of a sourdough-focused bakery and casual dining spot. Nestled along Race Course Road in the vibrant Farrer Park area, it occupies a cozy space where much of the kitchen buzz spills into the seating area, giving diners a glimpse of bakers shaping sourdough and preparing dishes in real time.

This place will appeal to those who appreciate a thoughtful approach to food, especially fans of sourdough and innovative comfort dishes. The menu highlights include varied pies—like chicken and forest pies—alongside interesting pasta dishes made with sourdough elements, such as the rich beef ragu pasta or the lemony sourdough pasta. The toasted sourdough bread plate and focaccia are popular choices, fitting perfectly with the bakery’s focus.

The atmosphere is intimate but feels a touch snug, as the bakery’s open kitchen takes up significant floor space. This means it can get busy during peak times, and seating is limited. Parking nearby is also a challenge, so visitors often rely on public transport or a short walk after parking farther away.

Daytime visits, especially mid-morning to early afternoon, seem best to avoid the crowd and enjoy the food without rush. Locals often drop by for a relaxed bite paired with a glimpse into the artisan baking process, making it a casual yet special spot for brunch or light lunch. The service is attentive and warm, with staff often going the extra mile to create a welcoming experience.

Marymount Bakehouse suits groups who enjoy sharing plates and trying flavour-packed savory bakes, or anyone seeking a bakery that’s more than just pastries—a place where the bread and dishes are thoughtfully crafted with care and a dash of creativity.

The beef ragu pasta is exceptionally delicious and truly unique, especially with the sourdough that gives it a memorable twist. The basque tartine is simple yet full of flavour, and both dishes are presented with impressive creativity. The service is also very good and professional, adding to the overall experience. You can tell the team puts real thought and care into their food and hospitality. While the price point is slightly on the higher side, it feels justified because of the quality, presentation, and creativity. Overall, it’s a delightful café experience that stands out for both its dishes and its service.

The pasta salad looks simple but tasted so so rich and flavourful, pasta was very chewy! The drunken chicken pie was decadent and the truffle cream went well with the chicken and chestnuts. Will be back for the pasta and more! Special shoutout to Willy, who provided superb, thoughtful and meticulous service, from calling us in during the hot hours in the afternoon, ushering to serving food and greeting customers when they left amidst a flurry of customers and orders. He even remembered his customer by name. Appreciate his service with a human touch.

Sourdough themed food and bakes. Tried the mushroom pasta and the chicken pie. Free salad due to anniversary deals! Loved all the food :) and service was so warm and friendly! Highly recommend. Small space though so will probably fill up fast. And if u are driving - parking may be a challenge due to limited roadside lots.

Located in Farrer Park, MMBH is a sourdough focused bakehouse with a beautiful exterior. The interior is unfortunately a little cramped, given that more than half of the premises is occupied by the kitchen. While dining, you can see the bakers hard at work kneading and baking the sourdough. The pasta was interesting too. Apparently it's made of sourdough too. I had the lemony one and it tasted really fresh. I'm not sure if this is a critique of MMBH or just Singapore cafe prices in general but boy was it kind of expensive. An iced latte here (regular -- none of that oat milk stuff) costs you $5.80 without ice. As per Singapore norms, ice costs $1. Changing to oat milk costs $1. You have your service charge and GST too. I'm sure MMBH is doing this due to insane rental costs, so I don't fault them at all. The sourdough plate I got was $20++ and the pasta was about $24++. Maybe this price point is necessary to keep such a sincere and handmade bakery afloat.

The food here is pricey but well worth it - dishes are creative and carefully made with multiple components, and most importantly super delicious! Highly recommend the new meatball gnocchi that tastes so festive with the gravy and cranberry sauce. Also had the seafood pie and the monks hog yolk focaccia (not pictured) that were great as well. There wasn't much of a crowd at 11am on Thursday, and the staff were also very nice and friendly, explaining all their new items. Can't wait to see what else the team comes up with :)

Absolutely in love with their sourdough pasta. My favourite is their beef ragu, but their newly launched sourdough gnocchi is great too. All the different ingredients complement each other really well, with generous amounts of dill. We also ordered their shepherd’s pie & that’s a must order every time we’re back here. And btw, their dirty chai latte here is really great too! Amazing ambience and amazing service staff, we will definitely keep coming back.

The sourdough pasta was easily the highlight that I’d definitely return to try more of their pasta offerings. The staff recommended pies for us as first‑timers, so we went with the drunken chicken pie. It was good and well‑made, but not something I’d order again, not memorable enough to revisit. The sourdough bread served on a board was middling and fell short compared to better versions I’ve had elsewhere. Overall, it is worth visiting for the sourdough pasta. The rest of the menu felt more ordinary, and I wouldn’t return for the pie or bread, but the pasta alone makes it a place I’d go back to

baked not fried.

Delightful. Staff were helpful from start to end - from finding a suitable space to settle in as a group, to recommending foods within the limits of dietary restrictions. Food was exceptional. Deep flavours with combinations that work well! We ordered the lemon sourdough pasta, the chicken pot pie and pork focaccia. HIGHLY recommend. I also don’t usually opt for a cup of disappointment which is Spiced Chai in Singapore, but this cafe did it fairly well. Double recommend. Other than that we had the squid ink pasta which was on the sweeter side. Definitely pairs well with the copious dill, but still a tad sweet for my liking. Overall still looking forward to my next visit.
